This project required scale, consistency and precision.
In total, twelve Cambridge rooflights were installed — ten across the main house and two on the garage. From the outset, the objective was clear: achieve a clean, frameless finish that maximised glass area and delivered as much natural light as possible without compromising the architectural intent.
The result is a series of rooflights that sit confidently within the roofscape, enhancing both interior light levels and the building’s external profile.
Why Cambridge Skylights?
The specification was driven by design clarity.
The clients wanted uninterrupted glazing and minimal internal framing. A frameless solution ensured the focus remained on the glass rather than the surround — allowing light to enter generously while maintaining sharp, contemporary lines.
Thermal efficiency and build quality were equally important. The units delivered on performance as well as appearance, providing the balance required for a modern, highly insulated building envelope.
Installation on corrugated roofing
This project presented a technical consideration: corrugated roof sheets.
To ensure correct integration, bespoke fibreglass flashings were fabricated on site. The Cambridge units proved straightforward to work with, allowing accurate positioning and reliable detailing despite the roofing complexity.
Ease of installation matters on projects of this scale. The process was smooth and efficient throughout.
The finished result
Internally, the effect is immediate.
Daylight enters from multiple points, creating dynamic light movement throughout the spaces below. The repetition of rooflights strengthens the architectural rhythm of the building while maintaining a clean ceiling line.
Externally, the glazing sits comfortably within the corrugated roof, reinforcing the contemporary aesthetic without visual clutter.
The clients were extremely pleased with the outcome.
So much so that these rooflights are now specified on subsequent Lodgico Ltd. projects.
